Davis, CA—IRC Tire announces a new partnership with former UCI World Tour Cyclist, Peter Stetina. Peter announced in late 2019 that he was leaving World Tour racing to focus exclusively on gravel and mountain bike endurance events and sought out the best partners and products to help succeed in these new categories.
IRC, known for their expertise in gravel, understands the importance tires play in cycling and is excited to partner with Peter, who selected IRC to arm himself with the best tire options for whichever bike he’s riding or racing.
“All my career I’ve been told what to ride and to ‘like’ it. A big part of this new adventure is having a more fulfilling role in the sport and being able to choose my partners. IRC is not only supplying me with all the rubber I can burn, on all surfaces, but we’re already working on some new gravel shredtastic-ness. I am very excited to represent and ride IRC,” said Peter Stetina.
“Peter cemented his palmarès in gravel cycling by winning the 2019 Belgian Waffle Ride. He then went on to take second place at the 2019 Dirty Kanza 200,” said Marc Ikeda, General Manager IRC Tire, North America. “IRC is focused on the booming gravel market and providing best in class tires that meet the demands of gravel adventure and racing. Peter is the perfect person to partner with and we are looking forward to a successful season along with his valuable feedback and new design ideas on how to make the product even better.”
IRC will supply tires for road training, mountain biking and of course, gravel. Peter will also partner with the product team in the development of new tire treads across categories and surface conditions.
Peter has a full gravel and endurance schedule planned, hitting all the big events worldwide. His first major event will be the Mid South, formerly known as the Land Run 100, in Stillwater, OK this March.
